Welcome to the Ramblers Bradford group

Winter walk advice and information

All walks are led by experienced volunteer members of the Ramblers.

The walks are circular, usually 4 to 6 miles in length and are classified as leisurely/moderate according to the Ramblers scale. They often use tracks, towpaths, greenways etc. They may also include uphills, descents, stiles, rougher ground and wet or muddy stretches. They are suitable for anyone of reasonable fitness and an adventurous nature.

NON-MEMBERS are welcome on all walks. However, if you enjoy the walks it would be appreciated if you showed your support by joining the Ramblers, and helping them to continue their work.

New leaders and helpers always welcome. Please note leaders must be Ramblers members, for insurance purposes.

Whilst every care is taken on these walks, please remember that everyone taking part does so at their own risk.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear and try to include a light or reflective item. Torches may be useful, but please don’t dazzle others. LED torches are a good investment if you plan to walk in the dark frequently.

When taking part in any walk please consider others as well as your own enjoyment –

  • Park cars considerately and safely.
  • Do not walk ahead of your leader.
  • Always follow the Country and Highway Codes.
  • Walk in SINGLE FILE and TAKE EXTREME CARE when on roads.
  • Well behaved dogs are welcome, but are the owner's responsibility and MUST be kept on a lead AT ALL TIMES. Please follow any instructions given by leaders and organisers regarding your dog.
  • Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Please follow your leader's advice at ALL Times. It is given for the good of all.
